Our challenge was to create something that Is both easy enough to use while still providing control over the appliances in user’s home without overwhelming them.
Every user has their very own habits and mental models that they apply to their everyday life. When designing products, you need to keep in mind a specific target group and their characteristics.

We decided to use a survey to gather quantitative data about our target audience. Our goal was to get to know their habits and their thoughts on smart home appliances.
I studied a few smart home industries to identify patterns and catalog their offerings to users.
Pros:

- Possibility to change Icons for devices and room.
- Possibility to display current power consumption.
Cons:
- Outdated Design.
- Very poor navigation through rooms and devices.
- Doesn’t stick to Apple’s design guidelines

Customer journey map given us a way of getting into our customer’s heads, helped us gain valuable insights and understanding regarding common customer pain points. Really helped us in understanding what our users want and how they feel.

The final design revolved around the concepts of flexibility, clarity, and friendliness There were achieve through the use of white and bright colour palette, using the iOS Design system components human interface guidelines.
Any smart home app is all about data security. It better to Expilicity ask your users for name, password, verification code instead of simply allowing them to register with a network profile.

User can control device from anywhere easily. In device control user may change the night light color.
Heater setup flow process includes searching for nearby device and select the icon of location and room where you want to add your heater.
Heater create new schedule flow process includes schedule name, rule name, select days of schedule, set time and temperature according to time period.
Usability testing is a method to evaluate in use of user friendliness of design with the help of users and their feedback.
The goal was to identify any usability problem, we collected qualitative and quantitative data and determined the participant’s satisfactions with the product. The application design evaluation was conducted by 3 users. Their interaction with app was good. They figure out the features and functions effortlessly and provided positive feedback about the work. Below are respective feedback.
- - Love the concept and very neat and easy to understand.
- - The application with minimalistic UI design looks attractive and engaging.
- - Easy accessible and flexibility to connect with friends and family.
Learned from the Envi Smart Heating app design process affect the way I will approach similar projects in the future. I couldn't have designed a product users love without the help of the people who will actually use it. The user survey revealed unexpected information and made it possible to adapt the product to users' needs. Being aware of users needs and pain points helped me to create a seamless, end-to-end experience.
