What is Analytics?

Overview

Analytics is the systematic computational analysis of data or statistics, that is used to discover, interpret and communicate meaningful patterns in data. UX Analytics can be quantitative or qualitative.

UI/UX designers and other creative professionals all use analytics to measure human behavior across websites. Analytics helps us identify and leverage behavior patterns to enhance our brands, products, and services. It also includes applying data patterns toward effective decision-making. This can be valuable in areas rich in recorded information; Analytics relies on the simultaneous application of statistics, computer programming, and operations research to measure performance.

UX Analytics is the measurement and analysis of user activity on a website or app that provides insight into how its design can be adapted to meet the current or changing needs of end-users. Measurement can be quantitative or qualitative.
