What is Dialogue?

Overview

A pop-up window appears before/after an action. A dialog is an overlay that requires the user to interact with it and is designed to elicit feedback from the user. Dialogs inform users with important information that users need to make decisions or involve multiple actions.

Dialog is a type of modal window; access to the rest of the UI is disabled until the modal is addressed. All modal surfaces are constrained by design - they aim to focus the user on the content surface visible in front of all other surfaces.

Dialog is a type of modal window or popup window, that appears in front of app content to provide important information or make decisions. All applications functionality is disabled when the dialog window appears, and remains on the screen until confirmation, cancellation, or necessary action is taken. Dialogues are purposefully obstructive, so they should be used sparingly
