KPIs are key indicators of progress towards an intended outcome. They provide a focus for strategic and operational improvement, create an analytical foundation for decision making and help us focus on what matters most. Management with the use of KPIs involves setting goals i.e. the desired level of performance and tracking progress against that goal.
