What is Website?

Overview

A website (OR a web site) is a collection of web pages and related content that is identified by a common domain name and published on at least one web server. Examples of notable websites are Google, Amazon, Facebook, and Wikipedia.

Websites can be used in various forms: a corporate website for a company, a government website, a personal website, an organization's website, etc. Websites are generally dedicated to a specific purpose or topic. Any website may contain a hyperlink to another website, so the distinction between the different sites may be blurred when viewed by the user.

A search engine is a special type of website that helps users find web pages from other websites. For example - Google, Yahoo, Bing, Yandex, and many more.
