What is Browser?

Overview

A browser is a computer program that displays documents and data. If this document is a website (HTML file or hypertext document) on the World Wide Web, then one speaks of a web browser. Really nothing more than a user interface!

A web browser is a computer program with a graphical user interface for displaying and navigating between web pages. It is an application program that provides a way to view and interact with information on the World Wide Web. This includes web pages, videos, and images. So it fits pretty well with what you usually want to do when you open a (web) browser to go deep into the internet.

A web browser is a client program that uses HTTP (Hypertext Transfer Protocol) to make requests to web servers on the Internet on behalf of the browser user. Web browsers function as part of the client/server model. When the user makes requests on a web server, the server-side sends information back to the browser; which interprets and displays the information on the user's device.
