What is Color Wheel?

Overview

A tool used by visual designers to make fundamental color combination choices. The color wheel shows the relationship between colors and reate the perfect color scheme for your next project.

A color wheel or color circle is an abstract representational organization of color shades around a circle, showing the relationships between primary colors, secondary colors, tertiary colors, etc. Most color wheels are based on three primary colors, three secondary colors, and six intermediates, for a total of 12 main divisions known as tertiary colors, from primary to secondary; Some add more intermediates to the 24 named colors.

The color wheel based on RGB (red, green, blue) additive primary has cyan, magenta, and yellow secondary. Alternatively, a similar arrangement of colors around a circle can be described based on cyan, magenta, and yellow subtractive primaries, with red, green, and blue as secondary. Sometimes an RGV (red, green, purple) triad is used instead.
