What is Pagination?
Overview
Pagination is the process of separating or dividing digital content into discrete pages. Pagination also refers to the automated process of adding consecutive numbers to identify a sequential order of pages.
Pagination is a user interaction control that needs to be carefully designed. Its purpose is to provide a good experience to the user when he is navigating the content using this control. The given collection of styles can be used when designing the pagination experience for your site/app.
There are benefits to breaking some types of website content into separate pages to make them more user-friendly, such as search engine results pages (SERPs), blogs, and discussion forums.
Pagination communicates the number of elements (articles, images, pages, etc…) that can be loaded in a given context. This shows the user where they are and enables direct access to previous and subsequent content items.
