Overview

Linux is an open-source operating system, that is free to start and can then be configured more freely.

Linux is an open-source operating system like other operating systems like Microsoft Windows, Mac OS for Apple, iOS, Google Android, etc. An OS is a software that allows communication between computer hardware and software. It gives input to be processed by the processor and brings output to hardware to display it.

Linux is designed to support high-volume and multithreading applications, and the most popular platform Android is powered by the Linux operating system. It is suitable for all types of server applications and desktop OS for personal computing.

Linux is used as - Server OS for web servers, file servers, database servers, email servers, and any other type of shared server.
