What is Reading Grade Level (RGL)?

Overview

Reading grade level OR RLG is a common measure of reading ability. These levels are an efficient way to measure a child's reading progress. If your child is primarily reading books at or above their prescribed reading level, they are more likely to enjoy reading.

Reading Grade -Level is an important skill for every child and youth because it affects high school graduation and career success. Reading level is simply a measure of a user’s ability to read the text. It reflects how well a user can read independently.

Grade-level reading is defined as the average passage difficulty level (as measured by one of several readability formulas) that most students at a typical grade level can read with comprehension.
