What is Organization Structures?

Overview

Organizational structure is the way by which work flows through an organization. It allows groups to work together in their individual tasks/functions to manage tasks.

Traditional organizational structures are more formal functions (such as finance or operations), territories, or product lines.

Organizational structure is the backbone of all operational processes and workflow in any company. It determines the place and role of each employee in the business and is key to organizational development.

Organizational structure aligns and relates the parts of an organization, so it can achieve its maximum performance. The structure chosen influences the strategy of an organization and its success in meeting the objectives. Leadership must understand the characteristics, benefits, and limitations of different organizational structures to aid in this strategic alignment.
