What is Page Types?

Overview

Page Types is a term used to refer to a group of page components that form a page designed to meet specific user needs. Any website can be made up of three types of Web pages based on their location within a site: the Home page, Intermediate pages, and Content pages.

Page types in Web pages offer immense flexibility, but the process of delivering a uniquely aggregated mix of content with each page request requires a fast, high-end Web server.

For example, a search and results page allows a user to search and query a database and review the results. Landing page, Homepage, Product page, and Blog post are some general examples of page types.

Each page type has unique features that fit together to create a compelling site. Here you'll look at each type in more detail, focusing on the three most common page types: layout pages, content pages, and full-page applications.
