What is Pluralistic Walkthrough?

Overview

A pluralistic walkthrough is a usability methodology that revolves around a group of users, designers, or developers accompanying usability practitioners stepping through tasks and scenarios in an attempt to identify usability issues and establish solutions.

The pluralistic walkthrough (or user-centered walkthrough, or storyboarding) is a usability inspection methodology used to identify usability issues in software or website design to create a maximum usable human-computer interface.

This method is used to generate a preliminary design evaluation by providing a group of users with a series of paper-based tasks that represent the proposed product interface and include the participation of the developers of that interface. The method motivates designers to evaluate their designs at the early stage of their work.
