What is Preference Data?

Overview

Preference data is data that focuses on user perceptions. Preferences refer to certain characteristics that any consumer wants in order to improve a good or service for himself.

Preference data is the data that a user or customer proactively shares with a brand. This includes his personal information such as choices, style, budget, contextual data, purchase habits, and demographics.

Preference data occurs when evaluators express a comparative opinion about a set of items by ranking, rating, pair comparing, liking, or clicking. The purpose of preference data learning is to speculate on the shared consensus preference of a group of users, (also called rank aggregation), or estimate the individual ranking of the item for each user when the user only Indicates incomplete preferences.
