What is Waterfall?

Overview

The Waterfall method for UX is an authentic, sequential, linear method of software development with no flexibility for iterative design or development. UX designers may follow a user-centered design approach but must adhere to an agreed scope and timeline.

The waterfall UX process is a project management approach for developing mobile apps. The methodology reduces the associated risks of creating apps via a well-thought-out Waterfall software development process.

The Waterfall methodology plays a vital role in software development for many decades. By applying the water-scrum-collapse paradigm, a hybrid approach is possible that works effectively. The project leader works within the waterfall paradigm, but the development team works in an agile environment and is integrated with the waterfall structure only through the scrum team. However, running agile and waterfall processes concurrently is challenging.
