What is VIMM (Visual, Intellectual, Memory, Motor)?

Overview

VIMM describes the four ways a user thinks. The usability goal of VIMM is to “reduce load” in four key areas: Visual Load, Intellectual Load, Memory Load, and Motor Load.

VIMM is an acronym for Visual, Intellectual, Memory, and Motor Testing. These four simple concepts included in the model account for 80% of usability issues. The VIMM model is a way to focus on how useful your product or website is to a user. It takes a deep dive to understand which aspect comes naturally to the user and which requires a good amount of work or thought process from his end.
