What is Design Thinking?

Overview

Design Thinking refers to the set of cognitive, strategic, and practical processes used by designers in the process of designing, and the body of knowledge developed about how people reason when engaging with design problems.

A set of strategic, cognitive, and practical processes by which design concepts are developed; design thinking is an approach used for practical and creative problem-solving. It is based on the methods and processes that designers use, but basically, it has evolved from a range of different fields – including engineering, architecture, and business. Although design thinking is extremely user-centric, it is different from user-centered design. It focuses on human beings first and foremost to understand the needs of the people and come up with effective solutions to meet those needs.
