What is Kanban?

Overview

Kanban is a very lean framework for agile project management. There is no sprint or iteration in Kanban. Everything revolves around a board in which all the tasks to be completed are centrally collected. These tasks are then processed continuously by team members. There is only one setting in Kanban and that is the number of tickets that can be processed per person. As a rule, however, it is stated that a maximum of one ticket per person should be processed.

Kanban is a lean way to manage and improve work in human systems. The approach is to manage work demands with available capacity and improve the system-level bottlenecks. This requires real-time communication of capability and complete transparency of work. Work items are represented visually on a kanban board, allowing team members to view the status of every piece of work at any given time.

Kanban boards use cards, columns, and continuous improvement to help technology and service teams get and do the right amount of work!
